Roof Replacement
Comprehensive Residential Roof Replacement Solutions
Roofs should be replaced anywhere between 20-35 years to address wear and tear. When the roof is near the end of its life cycle, or you are experiencing consistent leaks, it may be time to consider a roof replacement. Being pro-active and replacing your roof before the end of its life cycle ensures that it will continue to withstand Alberta's weather and protect your home.
At Roof-Ex, we offer residential roof replacement solutions, and have completed over a thousand jobs in our 15 years of service. During our roof replacement services, our team of skilled labourers will give your roof a fresh start. This is done by removing old or damaged layers, and replacing them with quality water-proofing materials and shingles. We approach each job with a dedication to excellent customer service, ensuring every interaction is positive from start to finish.

What to expect
Installation Guide
1. Shingle Removal
Old shingles and debris will be removed and stored in our trailer. Then we will load up the materials and tools that will be needed in the coming steps.

2. Roof Deck Preparation
Once the old shingles and underlayment have been removed, we will clean out your gutters and perform any necessary repairs to the roof deck.

3. Drip Edge
At the bottom of the roof deck, just above the gutters, a metal drip edge will be installed. Snow and water build up the most on the eaves edge, and drip edge metal protects the roof deck from direct water contact.

4. Ice and Water Membrane
Ice and water membrane is then installed along the eaves edge. It is also used in valleys, and in higher leak prone areas where ice and water tends to build up. It is a self-adhering membrane with an adhesive backing that sticks to the roof deck.

5. Valleys
If there are valleys on your roof, they will be assessed based on size, pitch, and location in order to determine whether a metal valley or shingled valley is more appropriate.

6. Synthetic Underlayment
Once the drip edge and ice and water membrane have been installed, the remaining roof deck is covered with synthetic underlayment. It is a synthetic paper with a high tear strength that adds a second layer of protection if any water makes its way underneath your shingles.

7. Shingles and Vents
After the underlayment has been finished, our crew will install your chosen colour and brand of shingles. All vents and plumbing collars will be replaced, and flashings in good condition will be refreshed. Finally, proper capping will be installed along roof ridges.
